This is terrible news after yesterdays launch of the iPhone 4S that Steve Jobs has passed away from pancreatic cancer which he had been fighting for the last 6 to 7 years. The co-founder of now Apple Inc. had set the benchmark for how a CEO should run a company as well as holding a keynote presentation or two. His devotion to Apple was well known, with his true loves being his Wife, Family & the company.
I don’t think there will be anyone as revolutionary as Steve Jobs for quite some time, the culture he has left behind will band together to support both the company and give their condolences to his immediate family. I personally feel slightly affected, even though I run 5150 Studios in Australia, I have been using Apple computers since 2002 (The original Blue iMacs – remember those?) right up to the computer I write this on (Macbook 13″ Aluminium) which sits next to my iPhone 4 & iPad 1.
I have devoted hours into following the brand, watching all keynote events since late 2006 up until now, and if there was no live stream you bet it was constantly clicking refresh on Cnet & Engadget’s live blogs. To think that Steve Jobs has died is almost unimaginable, he took Apple by the horns and brought it back from extinction to become one of the top 3 world wide brands!
Steve your revolutionary vision will be missed but never forgotten, you have formed a team of the best designers, engineers & marketers available who will carry on your legacy.
Cheers Mick Davies.
